DIS (distributorless ignition system) control modules control the current flow to the coils. Sensor inputs referencing crankshaft position and engine speed are processed by the DIS module to establish ignition timing and sequence. BWD’s modules undergo extensive testing ensuring better quality, increased confidence, enhanced performance, and improved durability.
- Flip Chips are matched to the thermal expansion properties of our ceramic substrate therefore providing the best connections. The benefit is the elimination of failure due to broken connections between the chip and the board.
- To provide better heat dissipation which prevents damage to the muddle, a copper slug heat sink is used.
- To protect the unit from voltage spikes that could destroy the unit, an electronic suppression diode (ESD) is used.
- Double wire bonds make better connections for greater dependability and longer life, despite intense vibration and other harsh conditions.
